Order a Special Mix

Ordering is only available to users with Owner or Manager level access to their farm.

Special mixes

Special mixes are a combination of two or more products that are blended together. You can choose from Ravensdown's most popular bulk fertiliser products and trace elements to create a mix specific to your farm.

Not all products go well together. Some mixes can be highly volatile; others will absorb moisture, generate heat, or quickly seize up. A summary can be found on the Ravensdown Product Compatibility Chart.

For health and safety reasons all special mixes are automatically checked by our system. Incompatible products will not be able to be ordered.

How to order

• Once logged in, navigate to Order > New Order.
• Select Special Mix.
• Enter your Mix name in the box.
  Previously saved special mixes can also be selected from this box.
• Enter your Products and a Spread rate for each.
• Click Add product to add additional products for the mix.
  Trace elements will populate with the recommended pastoral spread rate.  This can be overridden with the exception of Selenium.
• To remove a product, click the X at the end of the row.
• Select Next. This will run the compatibilty check on the mix. If your mix is not compatible, you will be required to edit the product in the list. If the mix is moderately compatible, you will need to Accept the mix before continuing.
• Click on the paddocks and/or management zones you are ordering for.
  To order management zones you will need to turn these on by selecting them in the layer list.
• Click Finish in the bottom right corner after making your selection.
• HawkEye will calculate the amount of product required based on the effective area and spread rate.
  If you have any exclusion zones in your selected areas, the spreadable area will be calculated as the effective area less any intersecting exclusion zones.
• If you require bulk bags, tick Bag my order. Bags will be 1T bags by default.  If you require 1/2T bags select Edit to change the bag size. Bulk bags require 48 hours notice.
• Select Go to logistics to proceed.

Logistics

• Choose your preferred Dispatch date. This date is a requested date and should be confirmed with your spreader and/or transporter.
• Enter an Order name and Reference if required.
• Select the Contact person for the order.
• Select the Store, Delivery address, Spreader, and Transporter.
• If you require the nitrogen content or product quantity to be split with another Ravensdown customer, tick Split payment.
• Select the relevant agreement for the split.
• Add any notes/instructions for the store or spreader.
• Click Next

The lead-time for special mixes is two days. Please call us to discuss your options if you need your mix earlier.

Review the information on the Order Summary screen. You can edit order details or logistics prior to placing your order. You can also View PDF of Spread file, which will open a draft copy (in a new browser tab) of the order confirmation and application map. This PDF will be emailed to you and your chosen spreader once the order has been submitted.

You must agree to Ravensdown’s Terms of Trade before clicking Place order.
