N Paddock Report

Reports

With new nitrogen limits on farm, checking your nitrogen fertiliser applications throughout the season is going to be vital to ensure you are staying compliant. Look at your nitrogen use across the farm using the new N paddock report and compare yearly usage.

What is the N Paddock Report?

The N Paddock report shows your nitrogen use over the new N190 nitrogen cap reporting period.  This period runs from the 1st July to the 30th June.  The N paddock report allows you to compare up to 5 years of nitrogen use on farm and view either in a table or a bar graph.

How do I create the bar graph?

  • Go to Nutrient Reports and select the N Paddock button.
  • Select the years you wish to see from the date picker.
  • Select paddocks from the list or the map.
  • Select View Chart.

How are the nitrogen levels calculated?

The nitrogen levels come from all fertiliser applications that have been recorded on farm. These can come from Ravensdown joint venture spreaders, and other integrated spread data providers, and from manual recording of activities. The figures exclude any effluent applications you may have recorded on farm, as per current reporting requirements.

Why N190?

The new National Environmental Standards for Freshwater include an N cap of 190kg/ha for synthetic nitrogen fertiliser use on pastoral land. These came into force on July 1st 2021 and dairy farmers have been required to report their figures to their local regional council since July 2022. Read more about the limits here.

Can I change the date range?

No, the dates are fixed for the N190 reporting year, 1st July - 30th June.

Can I print the bar graph?

Printing will be available at a later date for the bar graph.  You can export the information to a csv or excel file.
