Feed Wedge
Analysis
Feed Wedge enables you to see the average pasture cover, available feed and your total biomass, all derived from your farm's pasture readings and pasture growth.
How to view your Pasture Cover
Once you have entered your pasture readings open Analysis>Feed Wedge.
- By default the pasture cover tab will open
- Select the block, if you have more than one farm, you need to select area you wish to view. See Bookmarks help for more information.
- Choose the date you wish to view; this will automatically default to today’s date
- If you need to view the last reading tick the view last pasture measure date option
- Select irrigated if this applies to your paddock
- To display your average pasture cover you will need to enter your Pre-Grazing and Post grazing residual if you need a hand working these out use our calculator
- Select Refresh view to display your average pasture cover and view your populated Feed Wedge
How to view your Pasture Growth
Start with Analysis> Feed Wedge and follow these steps:
- Click the Pasture growth tab
- Choose your location and block, note that if you have more than one location, you will need to select which one you want to view. See Bookmarks help for more information
- Enter the date range you wish to view the growth for, this will default to today and dates of pasture readings are highlighted on the calendar
- Select irrigated if this applies to your paddocks
- Currently the only Farm Type available is Dairy
- Set your negative growth tolerance which by default is set to 200
- Choose your excluded readings, by default, this is set to 10 days
- Click refresh view to generate your graph
- Data can be viewed in table form by selecting the Table button
How to view your Total Biomass
Start with Analysis> Feed Wedge and follow these steps:
- Click the Total Biomass tab
- Choose your location and block, note that if you have more than one location, you will need to select which one you want to view. See Bookmarks help for more information
- Enter the date you wish to view the growth for, this will default to today
- If you wish to view the last reading even if it back in time, tick the view last pasture measure date option
- Select irrigated if this applies to your paddocks
- Currently the only Farm Type available is Dairy
- To display the total biomass you will need to enter your Pre-Grazing and Post-grazing residual. If you need a hand calculating Pre-Grazing, click use our calculator
- Select Refresh view to display the total biomass and view your populated feed wedge
- Data can be viewed in table form by selecting the Table button
When you have your feed wedge visible, you can drag a box over and it will zoom in. All data from your feed wedge can be exported as either a CSV or Excel file.
